The Sellenriek Tradition of Excellence was born from a lifetime of experience in the grading field. Edwin Sellenriek started Sellenriek Grading Company, Incorporated in 1955 as a finish grading, seeding and sodding company. The tradition passed from generation to generation as Edwin's son, Neil, and grandson, Drew, continued to expand the company over the next few decades.

The Tradition of Excellence continues today as the Sellenriek name has become synonymous with quality golf course construction. Much of Sellenriek's success is attributable to the highly qualified, dedicated employees who share in the commitment to quality and excellence. Most employees have been with the company for many years, allowing a consistency and level of competency that cannot be found in companies with a large turnover in staff.
